John O. Martin , 78, passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. He was born on December 17, 1941 to the late J. Wilbur and Pauline Martin (McCracken) in Peoria Illinois. Mr. Martin honorably served his country in the United States Air Force. He retired from AT&T, formerly Indiana Bell where he worked as a telephone technician. Mr. Martin was a member of the American Legion Post 204 in Sellersburg, The Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1757 in Sellersburg and Southern Indiana R/C Modelers.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Cheryl Martin and by his two brothers, James and Charles Martin.

Survivors include his sons, Patrick Martin (Amy) of Borden, Indiana, Dan Martin (Suzanne) of Jeffersonville, Indiana, Michael Martin (Angela) of Charlestown, Indiana, his brother, Thomas Martin (Janice) of Hurricane, West Virginia, and his sister, Dup Pierce (Robert) of Van Nuys, California. Mr. Martin also leaves behind 6 grandchildren to cherish his memory, Kaeleb Martin, Ethan Martin, Kaitlyn Thomas (Nathan), Isaac Martin, Abigail Martin and Sean Martin.

Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Monday, January 13, 2020 at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg with cremation to follow. Visitation will take place on Monday from 12:00 P.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
