John "Johnny" Brock, a beacon of joy and kindness, passed away on August 30, 2026. Born on November 3, 1999, in Louisville, Kentucky. John lived a life full of love, laughter, and compassion, leaving an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him. John grew up in a family filled with love and warmth, cherished by his parents, Todd and Sarah Brock of Georgetown, IN, and his siblings Louis, William, Henry and Eliza Bowlds (Josh) of Columbus, IN. He is also lovingly remembered by his grandparents Steve and Patricia Brock of Lexington, IN, grandmother Joan Knight of Elizabethtown, KY. He was predeceased by his beloved grandfather Ruel "T" Knight, who surely welcomed him with open arms.

John's life was defined by his dedication to community and service. He worked at the YMCA, not merely as a job, but as a heartfelt calling to uplift people young and old and provide them with a nurturing environment to grow and thrive. His commitment to making a positive impact extended through his active involvement with The Boy Scouts of America and his love for soccer.

An adventurous spirit, John found joy in the great outdoors, whether playing disc golf, camping, kayaking, or attending music festivals. His passion for gaming connected him with friends across the globe, from Arkansas to the UAE.

His vibrant personality shone brightly during poker nights with friends, where his occasional wins were celebrated not just for the victory, but for the shared camaraderie.

John's sense of humor, kindness, and compassion were the hallmarks of his character. His outgoing nature drew people to him, creating lasting friendships and cherished memories. He was a person who listened deeply and cared profoundly, always ready to lend a helping hand or share a hearty laugh.

A visitation to honor and celebrate John's life will be held on September 4, 2026, from 4:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at Garr Funeral Home, located at 7806 County Road 311, Sellersburg, Indiana, 47172. Visitation will continue at Garr Funeral home September 5th, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. with a funeral mass following at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Paul II Catholic Church located at 2253 West St. Joe Road, Sellersburg, Indiana, 47172. Please note all times are Eastern Standard Time.
