Sellersburg, Indiana

Jerry Dwain Lizenby , 68, passed away on Monday, July 9, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Scottsburg, Indiana on January 18, 1950 to the late Oren Frederick and Exie Mae (Lowry) Lizenby. Mr. Lizenby was a 1968 graduate of Scottsburg High School and a Indiana University Southeast alum. He was a member of the Graceland Baptist Church in New Albany and member of the Moose Lodge in Sellersburg. Mr. Lizenby retired after 33 years as a teacher at William W. Borden High School located in Borden, Indiana. In his retirement years he enjoyed working part time at the Speed Golf Course. Mr. Lizenby was preceded in death by his brother, Rick Lizenby and his two sisters, Brenda Jones and Karen Mains.

Survivors include his wife, Kathryn Lizenby (Hinton) of Sellersburg, his sons, Lucas Lizenby (Chelsea) of Corydon, Indiana, Robert Lizenby of Sellersburg and his brother, John Lizenby (Lisa) of Scottsburg.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M.  on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg with interment to follow at Sellersburg Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and on Thursday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
