Jerry Lee Elrod , 86, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 13, 2022 at Green Valley Care Center in New Albany, Indiana. He was a native of Sellersburg. Jerry was born on October 11, 1935 to the late Albert and Nora Elrod in Salem, Indiana. He honorably served his Country in the United States Army. Jerry retired from Henry Vogt Machine Company where he worked as a Machinist. He also retired from Hidden Creek Golf Course where he worked in the maintenance department.  Jerry was a member of the Blue River Baptist Church of Salem. He loved to fish and spend quality time with his family. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Hazel Elrod.

Survivors include his son, Daniel Elrod (Julie) of Clarksville, daughters, Teresa Hunsucker of Jeffersonville, Linda LaVon (Mike) of Charlestown, Lisa Hixenbaugh of Jeffersonville and his brother, Joe Elrod (JoAnn). Jerry leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren to cherish his memory.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, March 17, 2022 at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg with interment to follow at Sellersburg Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and on Thursday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
