James L. Ritchie , 73, of Sellersburg, Indiana, peacefully entered eternity on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at his home with his beloved family by his side. Jim was born on March 14, 1951, in Bardstown, Kentucky, to the late Roy and Catherine Ritchie (Beam).
Growing up in Bardstown, Jim was a former member of the Saint Joseph Cathedral. His professional life was marked by dedication and hard work, culminating in his role as a plant foreman for Century Industries in Sellersburg. Jim honorably served his country in the United States Air Force.
Jim had a passion for cars, a love for fishing, and an enthusiasm for entertaining. His lake home on Lake Cumberland in Kentucky was a sanctuary where he hosted friends and family, sharing his joy for boating and creating countless cherished memories. Jim's warmth and generosity left an indelible mark on all who knew him, and his love for his family was evident in every moment spent together. Jim was preceded in death by his son, Christopher Sean Ritchie, by his brothers, Joe, Ernie, Jack and Roy. He was also preceded by his three sisters, Libbie Johnson, Patsy Siloway and Mary "Lou" Mudd.
Survivors include his loving companion, Teresa Johnson of Sellersburg, his daughters, Alicia Dian Jones (Alex) of Jeffersonville, Indiana, Amie Korfhage (Matt) of Jeffersonville, his son, Ryan Johnson (Jacqueline) of Jeffersonville, his sisters, Sandra Nix of Boston, Kentucky and Chatty Crume of Bardstown, Kentucky and his 3 grandchildren, Nolan Korfhage, Leiana Ritchie and Ethan Jones. Jim also leaves a massive amount of cherished nieces and nephews to cherish his memory.
A private celebration will be held at a later time.
