Hobert E. Wright , 94, entered eternal life on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at his home in Borden, Indiana with his family by his side. He was born on September 20, 1929 to the late Roy and Dee Jackson in Greensburg, Kentucky. Hobert retired from ICI Ammunition Plant where he worked in maintenance. He was a lifelong member of the St. John Paul II Catholic Church (St. Joe Church) and the "Book Club". Hobert enjoyed wood working, splitting fire wood, gardening and telling jokes. Hobert was a kind, hardworking, humorous family man. He was a wonderful friend and neighbor to all who were blest to know him. He was preceded in death by his wife Aline Wright, by his brothers, Noel Wright and Jackie Jackson and by his sister, Ruby Jackson.
Survivors include his son; Steve Wright of Memphis, Indiana, his daughters; Janie Miller (John) of Borden, Indiana, Joyce Ann Nolot (Nick) of Sellersburg, Indiana, his grandchildren; Angela Vibbert, Scott Nolot (Abby), Crystal McCaskill (Mike), Stephani Wright, and Mason Wright (Misty), great-grandchildren; Hunter and McKenzie Vibbert, Waylon Richardson, Jack and Harry Thomas, Tristan and Hayden McCaskill and Jude Wright.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at St. John Paul II Catholic Church (Old St. Joe Hill Chapel) with interment to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday at Garr Funeral Home from 12:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. and on Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until the procession to the church.
