Geraldine "Gerry" Popp , age 82, passed on August 6, 2024. She was born in Whitley County, KY (Corbin) on May 21,1942 and was preceded in death by her parents, Van and Rizpah Moren Creech, and her brother, Jim Creech.

Gerry is survived by her husband Bob, daughter Michelle, son-in-law Tim, and grandson Connor Paschal. She will also be missed by sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews, Curves Ladies, and many friends.

Geraldine graduated from Silver Creek High School in 1960 and received her BS and MA from Indiana University. Teaching high school for 38 ½ years, two years at Scottsburg and 36 ½ at Clarksville, she enjoyed teaching English, Journalism, and Speech. She had many good memories of the students, staff, teachers, and administrators at both schools.

Gerry was a member of BPW (Clarksville Business & Professional Women), Delta Kappa Gamma Beta Pi (professional society for women educators), and The Clarksville Historical Society.

Cremation was chosen according to Gerry's wishes. The family requests any donations be made to Indiana University School of Medicine to support Alzheimer's research. Make memorial gifts payable to "IU Foundation" and mail to IU Foundation, P.O. Box 7072, Indianapolis, IN 46207-7072, indicating "In memory of Geraldine Popp" on the gift.

Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. until 5 P.M.  on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at Garr Funeral Home (7806 Highway 311, Sellersburg, IN 47172). A private interment will be held at a later date.
