Fava Lucille Jordan, a beloved resident of Borden, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 28, 2026, at the age of 97. Born on May 22, 1929, in Borden, Fava spent a lifetime devoted to her family, community, and various passions that brought joy to her and those around her.

Fava dedicated 32 years of her professional life to Sonoco, where she made lasting friendships and contributed significantly to the operation.

Beyond her professional life, Fava was deeply immersed in her community and family. She was a proud PTA President when her children were in school, always advocating for educational advancements. A woman of many interests, Fava loved to play cards, especially euchre; she enjoyed shopping, camping, and bowling, having participated in a league during her younger years.

Her adventurous spirit took her out west to visit family and on a memorable trip to Hawaii with her late husband, Kenneth, and she never passed up an opportunity to explore new places. Fava’s dedication to Indiana University basketball was unrivaled, earning her the title of their Number 1 fan. Her love for IU was only matched by her love for her pets, especially her little dog, Dolly, who preceded her in death. A nurturer at heart, she enjoyed planting flowers in her yard and cherished family gatherings at Christmas time.

Fava is survived by her loving daughter, Marcia Drury, Her legacy lives on through her grandchildren: Travis Drury, William Ater (Maryann), Wendy Hiser (Mike), Lonnie Ater (Rebecca), and Tobi Rushing (Tommy). She also leaves behind 12 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren who will continue to carry her memory forward.

Preceding her in death are her father, Ezra Taylor; her mother, Opal Baker; her beloved husband, Kenneth Jordan; her son, Ferrell "Jay" Jordan, her daughter Linda Miller; her brother, Ferrell Taylor; and her sister Charlotte Leach.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at a visitation at Garr Funeral Home (7806 Highway 311, Sellersburg, Indiana 47172) on Thursday, October 1st, from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Visitation will continue on Friday, October 2nd from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am in the funeral home chapel. Fava will be laid to rest at Walnut Hill Cemetery following her funeral service.
