Evelyn L. Burton, 86, entered into eternal life on March 26, 2024.

She was born in Lafayette, Indiana, to the late Ernest and Rosie May Zollman.

Evelyn was the co-founder, along with her husband, James, and son, Dennis, of Burton Farm and Construction Equipment.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  Evelyn had many friends whom she loved dearly.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 66 years, James Burton, son, Jeffrey Burton, daughter-in-law, Angela Burton and sister, Frances Griffith.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Dennis Burton of Newton, Alabama, daughter, Alberta Sharp (Steve) of Pekin, Indiana;  grandchildren, Jamie Shumaker (Casey), Rachel Shoupe (Clayton), Andrea Farmer, Stephanie Sharp, Christopher Sharp (Beth), Joshua Burton (Karlie), Brian Burton (Megan); great-grandchildren, Luke Shumaker, Colin Shumaker, Cole Shoupe, Taylor Shoupe, James Shoupe, Isabel Farmer, Samuel Farmer, Rosie Farmer, Sebastian Johnson, Hannah Sharp, Norah Sharp, Rosemarie Sharp, Cameron Sharp, Solara Burton, Jeffrey Burton, Rodney Burton, Clayton Burton, and Ase Burton.

Funeral service will be Friday, April 5, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Garr Funeral Home, 7806 Hwy 311 Sellersburg, Indiana.

Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday, April 4, 2024, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and Friday, April 5, 2024, from 11:00 AM until the time of the service.
