Douglas Fields , a lifelong resident of Memphis, Indiana, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2025, at his home at the age of 88. Born in the tranquil town of Stephens, Kentucky, on August 13, 1936, Douglas led a life marked by dedication, hard work, and a deep love for his family.

Douglas proudly served as a lineman for Duke Energy, where he was known for his strong work ethic and commitment to his craft. Beyond his professional life, Douglas was an avid outdoorsman with a passion for hunting and fishing, activities that he enjoyed sharing with family and friends.

A devoted member of the North Charlestown Church of God, Douglas's faith was a guiding force in his life. He leaves behind a loving family who cherished his wisdom and guidance: his loving wife of 58 Years, Wilma Fields, his son Duwane Fields and wife Janet, his daughter Carol Decker and husband Dwayne, and his son Eric Fields and wife Jemima. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Anthony Decker, Mitchell Fields and wife Courtney, Ashley Raschke and husband Ryan, Nathan Fields, Clayton Fields, Marshall Fields, and Lindsey Sprague and husband Justin. He is also survived by his brother, Paul Fields and wife Kaye. Douglas leave 5 great-grandchildren to cherish his legacy.

Douglas was preceded in death by his father Warnie Fields, his mother Lizzie Fields, his brothers Derrel, Donald, Delmas, and JA Fields, his sisters June Sloas and Geneva Fields, and his daughter Diedre Chandler.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Sunday, February 23, 2025 with interment to follow at Bowery Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.  and on Sunday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
