Dorothy M. Knight Owens Moore , 96, entered eternal life on Sunday, February 27, 2022 at her home in Sellersburg, Indiana. She was born on January 30, 1926 on the Family farm in Corydon, Indiana to the late Wayne F. and Julia E. Knight (Stallings). Dorothy was a member of the Sellersburg First Baptist Church and the Red Hat Society. She retired from the Naval Ordnance where she worked in the electrical department. Dorothy and her husband, Howell enjoyed being Snowbirds. They would spend the winter months at their second home in Winter Park, Florida. In her free time Dorothy could be found traveling, playing the Penny and Nickel Slots, watching professional golf and working in her gardens. Her beautiful flowers reflected her true green thumb.  Dorothy was preceded in death by her stillborn daughter, Mary Elizabeth Knight, by her brother, Howard Knight, by her two sisters, Judy Knight and Deloris Adams.

Survivors include her husband, Howell Moore, Sr. of Louisville, Kentucky, her son, William R. Owens (Lee Ann Cart) of Madison, Indiana, her sister, Mary Dear of Ramsey, Indiana, her grandchildren, Shayna Fortner (Kurtis) of Sellersburg, Randall Owens (Jasmine) of New Albany, Indiana, Justin Owens (Kristina) of Louisville and Derrick Mattingly of New Albany. Dorothy also leaves 8 great grandchildren to cherish her legacy, Shelby, Scarlett, Sawyer, Carter, Kayleigh, Ivy, Maverick and Aubree.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg with entombment to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville, Indiana. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
