It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Donald L. Haley, a cherished member of the Sellersburg, Indiana community, who left us on Saturday, September 12th, 2026, at the age of 88. Born in Louisville, Kentucky, on Saturday, July 2nd, 1938, Donald lived a life characterized by love, dedication, and service.

 Donald was a devoted husband to Cecelia "Sissy" E. Haley, with whom he shared a fulfilling life in Sellersburg. Together, they built a family filled with love and warmth. Donald is survived by his beloved wife, Sissy, and his son, Jeff Haley. He was a proud grandfather to Trevor, Nicholas, Mikey, Michelle, and Evie, and a beloved great-grandfather to Aiden, Addie, Phoebe, Charlotte, and Walker. He is also survived by his daughter-in-law, Victoria Haley. 

Donald proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps, embodying the values of honor, courage, and commitment throughout his life. After his service, he dedicated many years as a maintenance supervisor, where his work ethic and dedication were admired by all. In his leisure, Donald enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He found solace in the tranquility of fishing, particularly in Florida, and eagerly anticipated his annual fall fish fry. His days were often spent tinkering in the garage or maintaining his lawn, activities that brought him immense joy. Donald was preceded in death by his father, Earl Haley; his mother, Lindy Haley; his brothers, Earl, Jerry, and John Aubrey; and his sons, Tommy and Danny Haley. Despite these losses, his life was enriched by the loving bonds with his surviving siblings: Roger Haley (Tina), Pat Haley, Jimmy Haley (Tab), Deloris Carta, and Nancy Haley. He also leaves behind his sister-in-law, Bobbie Aubrey.

 In accordance with Donald's wishes, he will be cremated. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date, providing family and friends an opportunity to honor his memory and his many contributions to their lives.
