It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Donald Lee Franz, a beloved member of the Louisville, Kentucky community, who departed this world on Sunday, August 31st, 2025, at the age of 91.

Donald was born on Saturday, June 16th, 1934, in Louisville, Kentucky. He spent his formative years on the family farm in Brandenburg, Kentucky, where he cultivated a lifelong love for the simple joys of country living. After embarking on his career in manufacturing, Donald dedicated many years to Louisville Stove & Tin, a place where his hard work and unwavering commitment were deeply appreciated.

Donald was preceded in death by his loving parents, Charles and Malinda Franz (Fox), and his cherished spouse, Evelyn Franz. Despite these profound losses, Donald's warmth, humor, and love left an indelible mark on all who knew him.

A passionate follower of country music, Donald was a frequent attendee at shows and concerts, with a particular fondness for the legendary Elvis Presley. His enthusiasm for music was only matched by his love for bowling, where he enjoyed many happy years competing in a league alongside friends.

Survivors include his son, Donald Franz, Jr., his daughter, Alice Franz, his sisters, Hope Ready, Joy Machal, his cousins, Kathy Fox Kinman, Janet Fox Gilezan  and his girlfriend, Ann Eaton.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during a visitation at Garr Funeral Home (7806 Highway 311, Sellersburg, Indiana 47172), on Friday, September 5th, 2025, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. A funeral service to honor and celebrate Donald's life will follow at 2:00 pm with interment to follow at Sellersburg Cemetery.
