IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dewey
King
September 7, 1962 – February 7, 2026
Dewey King, a cherished resident of Lexington, Indiana, peacefully passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at the age of 63. He was born in Jeffersonville, Indiana to Carl and Rosie King (Lee).
Throughout his life, Dewey worked as a material handler until his health compelled him to retire. Outside of work, Dewey found immense joy in simple pleasures. He possessed a deep love for the outdoors, often spending time fishing and meticulously caring for his yard. Painting yard statues and mowing the lawn multiple times a week brought him peace and satisfaction.
Dewey had a passion for music and could often be found in his garage enjoying his favorite tunes, particularly on a hot day with a cold beer in his hand. He was an avid sports enthusiast, with a special affinity for football, basketball, and, above all, NASCAR. Dewey's admiration for Dale Earnhardt Sr., affectionately known as "The Intimidator," was well known among those who loved him.
Car shows were another of Dewey's favorite pastimes, where he could indulge his love for automobiles and engines. His two pups, Tonka and Rosie, were a constant source of joy and companionship.
Dewey is lovingly survived by his sons, Tommy King and Christopher King; his sister, Connie Berry; his grandchildren, Joseph King (Iva), Alivia King, and Bailey King; and his great-grandchildren, Odette Jansen, Nora King and Joseph King, Jr.. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Cindy King; his parents, Carl and Rosie King; his sister, Mary Shelton; and his brothers, Johnny King, Bob King, and Bill King.
A funeral service to celebrate and honor Dewey's life will be held at 1:00 P.M. at Blue Lick Christian Church (16113 Memphis-Blue Lick Rd, Henryville, IN 4712) on Saturday, February 14, 2026 with interment to follow at Forest Grove Cemetery.
