Dennis Wayne Pingleton, 88, of Sellersburg, IN, formerly of Lancaster, KY. passed away peacefully on September 5th, 2026.

Wayne was born on August 11th, 1938, in Copper Creek, Kentucky to the late Opal Kidwell Pingleton and Arthur Jackson Pingleton. In his youngers years Wayne spent many days working in the tobacco fields. He also dedicated 41 years to Supreme Oil Company where he made many friends throughout the years.

Beyond his career, Wayne looked forward to the holidays where he always cooked a spread fit for a king (best homemade coleslaw in Indiana). He also had a love for all dogs, especially Pugs. He enjoyed talking on the CB radio and negotiating a good trade. He was a true jack of all trades and never hired a handyman for any project. Above all Wayne was a great family man who deeply loved his family and was known for his kind and generous nature.

Preceded in death by his parents, son Jeffery Keith Pingleton, brother Robert Pingleton, sisters-Gladys Dailey, Norma Jean King, Freda Palmer, and Debbie Sparks.

Survived by his wife of 68 years Norma Sue Pingleton, son Kevin Blair Pingleton, daughter-in-law Kim Pingleton, sisters -Lois Duncan and Alice Ray.

Funeral services will be held at a private graveside ceremony.
