Delores J. Fate, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 22, 2026, at the age of 80. Born and raised in Henryville, Indiana, Delores was cherished by friends and family for her humor, wit, and unwavering dedication to her community.

Delores dedicated more than 30 years of her life as the School District Treasurer for Franklin County. Her commitment to education and fiscal responsibility impacted countless students, teachers, and families throughout her career. Known for her sharp mind and ability to bring laughter into any room, Delores left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

She had a love for good wine and chocolate, and she embraced the thrill of gambling. Her vibrant personality and zest for life were unmatched and will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.

Delores is predeceased by her parents, George and Irene Hutchins and her sisters, Caroline and Eddie. She is survived by her two nephews, Chuck Deweese (Heather) and Dale Baxter.

A visitation will be held at Garr Funeral Home (7806 Highway 311, Sellersburg, Indiana 47172) on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, followed by a memorial service at 3:00 pm at the same location. All arrangements are under the compassionate care of Garr Funeral Home.
