David Curts, Sr., 81, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2025. Born on February 24, 1944, in New Albany, Indiana, David was the beloved son of the late Lawrence and Lela Curts. A proud graduate of New Albany High School, David was a talented athlete who excelled in football and baseball. His love for sports remained a lifelong passion. He was an avid supporter of Indiana University athletics, the Indiana Pacers, and the Indianapolis Colts. David also enjoyed spending his days playing golf, going for daily walks, and staying active in the outdoors. He found joy in fishing, hunting, and playing the trumpet, hobbies that reflected both his peaceful nature and vibrant spirit. David retired from a long and dedicated career at General Electric, but his work ethic never wavered. In his retirement, he found fulfillment working for Clarksville Parks and Recreation and the Clarksville Community Center, often seen tending to the grounds and enjoying the company of others. More than anything, David was known for his generous heart and desire to help those around him. As a longtime Alcoholics Anonymous sponsor, he guided and supported countless individuals on their path to recovery, offering not only wisdom but genuine care and friendship. His commitment to service left a lasting impact on many lives and is a testament to the kind of man he was. He was a faithful Christian and a long time member of Westside Baptist Church, David's presence, laughter, and steady encouragement will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 19 years, Pamela; son David Curts, Jr; daughter Jan Cundiff (David); Step-daughter Rebecca Stettenbenz (Josh); brother Larry Curts; sister Geneva Fisher; grandchildren Alexi, Justin, Joshua, Isaiah. Funeral service will be Thursday, July 3, 2025 at 2 PM at Garr Funeral Service (7806 Hwy 311, Sellersburg, IN 47172). Visitation will be Thursday July 3 from 11 AM uuntil the time of the service at the funeral home. He walked through life with quiet strength and left footprints of kindness wherever he went.
