David Lee Broady , 73, entered eternal life on Sunday, September 18, 2022 at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York City following a vacation. He was born on September 4, 1949 to the late John and Lorena Broady in New Albany, Indiana. David was the owner of Southern Indiana Excavating. He was a member of the Sellersburg United Methodist Church and the American Legion Post 204. David was a good business man and a legendary equipment operator. He was in business for 50 years. In his free time he enjoyed boating and taking vacations. His favorite place to visit was the Canary Islands followed by anywhere with warm weather. David was preceded in death by his brother, Jack and his sister Shirley.

Survivors include his loving wife of 51 years, Loretta Broady of Sellersburg, his brother Don Broady (Janet) of New Albany, his lifelong friend, David Meredith of Charlestown and many nieces and nephews. David also leaves behind many dear friends to cherish his memory.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg with interment to follow at Sellersburg Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 1:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and on Saturday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
