It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Christina "Nina" Zuniga Baca, who departed this life on Sunday, May 4th, 2025, just shy of her 44th birthday. Christina was born on Saturday, May 9th, 1981, and was a beloved resident of New Albany, Indiana.

Christina dedicated her life to caring for others, working as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her profession, as she was known for her outgoing nature and her great love for bringing people together. She found joy in cooking out and hosting gatherings where her family and friends could create lasting memories. Christina's love for the water was apparent; she spent many cherished moments by the river, finding peace and happiness there.

Christina leaves behind a loving family who will forever carry her memory in their hearts. She is survived by her devoted mother, Diana Lames of New Albany, IN; her three cherished daughters, Elishia Griffin, Alexia Lames, and Kayleigh Lames; her caring sister, Melissa Lames; adored nieces and nephews, Kiera Lames, Shannon Lames, Kaleeysia Lames, Tayvein Lames and Janiya Lames. She was preceded in death by her father, Gary Lames.

Christina's friends were numerous, as her kind and infectious spirit touched many lives. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

A visitation honoring Christina's life will be held at the Garr Funeral Home (7806 Highway 31, Sellersburg, Indiana 47172) on Wednesday, May 14th, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Family, friends, and those whose lives Christina touched are invited to gather in remembrance of a beautiful life well lived.
