Cary Dean Allen , 59, passed into eternity at his home in Borden, Indiana, on Sunday, September 29, 2024. Born in Happy, Texas on August 24, 1965, to the late Bill and Deloris Allen (Glasgow), Dean spent his life as a hardworking and skilled equipment operator for Heidelberg Materials of Sellersburg, a company he faithfully served since 2006.

Dean had a deep love for the outdoors, often spending his free time enjoying nature while four-wheeling, immersing himself in the beauty of the natural world. A talented woodworker, he could build or fix anything with precision and care, a skill admired by all who knew him. His craftsmanship and passion for the outdoors left a lasting impression on his friends and family. Dean enjoyed spending quality time with his family and his fur-babies.

Dean was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Allen and by his sister, Tracy Boydston.

Survivor include his loving wife of 29 years, Amy Allen of Borden, Indiana, his sister, Kathy Mayes (Jerral Lynn) of Happy, Texas, his brothers-in-law, Scott McCarty of Marysville, Indiana, Thad McCarty of Otisco, Indiana, Andy McCarty (Sandra) of Alpena, Michigan and by his sister-in-law, Sherry Brading (Robert) of Charlestown, Indiana.  Dean also leaves 14 nieces and nephews to cherish their wonderful memories of Dean, Jimi Boydston, Roxxan Rowland, Kimber Coile, Jerral Lynn Mayes, Shane Boydston, Macie Moore, Lexie McCarty, Gryphon Brading, Declan Brading, Echo Brading, Rhiana Brading, AJ Figueroa, Joey Figueroa, Grant McCarty, Cate McCarty and Silas McCarty.

A memorial visitation will be held from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at the Garr Funeral Home (7806 Highway 311, Sellersburg, Indiana 47172)
