Carolyn Anne Elliott , 79, peacefully departed this world on Thursday, February 1, 2024, at her home in New Albany, Indiana. Born on August 2, 1944, in Henryville, Indiana, she was the beloved daughter of the late Warrick and Edith Barnett (Townsend).

Carolyn devoted 30 years of her life to General Electric in Louisville, Kentucky, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and commitment. Her retirement marked the end of a remarkable 30 year career.

A past member of Ivy Hill Baptist Church in Underwood, Indiana, and the First Baptist Church of Henryville, Carolyn found solace and community in her faith. Her passion for crossword puzzles and mystery novels revealed her keen intellect and love for the written word.

Carolyn's heart overflowed with affection for animals, particularly her cherished dogs. Gardening brought her immense joy, as she lovingly tended to her flowers, creating a vibrant tapestry of color around her home. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Clifford Darriel Elliott and by her granddaughter, Mary Beth Elliott.

Survivors include her sons, Darriel Scott Elliott (Denise) of Louisville, Kentucky, Jeffrey David Elliott (Sherry) of Guilford, Indiana and her daughter, Kristie Leah Deen of New Albany, Indiana. Carolyn also leaves 7 grandchildren to cherish her memory, Michael Elliott, Casey Johnson, Erin Elliott, Lucas Elliott, Joshua Elliott, Maria Franks and Devin Jones.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, February 5, 2024 at the Garr Funeral Home (7806 highway 311, Sellersburg, Indiana 47172) with interment to follow at Ivy Hill Baptist Cemetery in Vienna, Indiana. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
