Bruce Allen Mayfield, 79, passed away on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 9, 1938 to the late Marvin and Ruth Mayfield (Hostettler) in Clark County, Indiana. Mr. Mayfield retired from West Clark Community Schools where he served our community for 40 years as a teacher and counselor.  He was a past president of the West Clark Teachers Association and a member of the Blue Lick Christian Church located in Henryville. Mr. Mayfield enjoyed golfing, fishing and playing cards in his spare time. One of his favorite pastimes included spending time with his wife and grandchildren traveling the United States in their motor home. Mr. Mayfield and his wife spent the winter months in Auburndale, Florida.

Survivors include his loving wife, Lois Mayfield (Julian) of Henryville, his daughters, Melinda Brandt (Jason) of Baltimore Maryland, Lynne Hutchinson (Jim) of Sellersburg, his brother, Dennis Mayfield (Brenda) of Sellersburg, grandchildren, Christopher Stewart, Brandon Stewart, Ben Stewart, Jessica Day, Doug Hutchinson, and Daniel Hutchinson. Mr. Mayfield also leaves behind 6 great-grandchildren

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, November 30, 2018 at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg with interment to follow in Sellersburg Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 1:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M and on Friday from10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
