Bertha B. Thurman , 92, passed away peacefully at Lincoln Hills Retirement Home in New Albany, Indiana on Monday, December 3, 2018. She was born on July 2, 1926 to the late Walter Luckett and Oba (Jones) Bott in Carrolton, Kentucky. Mrs. Thurman worked for many years at Haas Cabinet Company of Sellersburg and was a member of the Sellersburg United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her great-granddaughter, Lindsey Mayden and by her brother, Mack Luckett.

Survivors include her husband, Cecil C. Thurman of Sellersburg, daughter, Cathey Gillespie of Orleans, Indiana, sons, Don Thurman of Atlanta, Georgia, David Thurman of Indianapolis, Cecil D. Thurman of Jeffersonville, granddaughters, Dawn Beyl of Hamlin, Iowa, Michelle Bailey of Sellersburg, Morgan Thurman of Indianapolis,  and grandson, Chris Thurman of Atlanta, Georgia. Mrs. Thurman also leaves behind 2 great grandsons, and 2 great-great grandsons.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
