IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Bertha C.
(Johnson) Branham
March 28, 1944 – February 13, 2026
Bertha C. Branham, a beloved homemaker and cherished family matriarch, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 13, 2026, at the age of 81. Bertha was a long-time resident of Jeffersonville, Indiana where she created a warm and loving home filled with laughter and family gatherings.
Born in Jeffersontown, Kentucky, on March 28, 1944, to Fred P. Johnson and Mary K. Johnson, Bertha grew up in a close-knit family, sharing fond memories with her siblings and later creating her own family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Branham, and their son, Sean B. Branham. Her siblings Fred Johnson, Linda Johnson, and Phyllis Johnson also preceded her in death, leaving her sister Lou Spainhour as a surviving sibling.
Bertha's life was a testament to love, dedication, and family. She devoted her time to being a cornerstone for her family as a homemaker, always ensuring that everyone felt loved and supported. Bertha was delighted by simple pleasures, and when she wasn't home, she could be found enjoying a game of bingo or visiting the casino at Caesars Indiana. Her life was not only centered on her home but also on the race tracks. She derived great joy from traveling to watch her husband, son, and grandson race at the Sportsdrome, Charlestown, and Bardstown race tracks. These outings were not just about the races but also about the time spent bonding with family.
Bertha's legacy continues through her grandchildren, Trevor Branham, and Brittany Burns and her treasured great-grandchildren, Bently Branham, Trevor Branham, and Aniyah White, who brought immeasurable joy to her life. Her sister, Lou Spainhour, remains a testament to the enduring family ties that Bertha treasured deeply.
Her passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew her, but they find comfort in the memories of her love and the strength of the family bonds she nurtured. Bertha's memory will forever be cherished, and her spirit will live on through her family and friends.
