Pauline Mull, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother and cherished friend to many, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 10th, 2026, just shy of her 89th birthday. Born on June 23rd, 1937, in Borden, Indiana, Pauline resided in Sellersburg, Indiana, where she touched countless lives with her kindness, generosity, and warmth.
A devoted homemaker, Pauline dedicated her life to providing love and care to her family and community. Her home was always a place of welcome and comfort, earning her the affectionate title of "Mom" from many neighborhood children. Pauline had a natural talent for cooking, delighting family and friends with her delicious meals and warm hospitality.
Throughout her life, Pauline was deeply involved in her community. She proudly served as the past president of the Parent-Teacher Association, contributing tirelessly to the betterment of local schools. She also enjoyed working in restaurants, where her friendly demeanor and hardworking spirit left a lasting impression on colleagues and patrons alike.
Pauline had a passion for games, particularly Yahtzee and euchre, savoring each moment spent with loved ones around the card table. Her lively spirit and sense of humor brought joy to all who knew her.
Pauline is survived by a large and loving family: her six devoted children, Marsha Hiser (Gary), Sam Lomax (Theresa), Joe Lomax (Laura), Janet Stricker, Patty Prather (Chuck), and Sheila Denham (Larry), along with 13 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Her legacy of love and family will endure through them.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Noah and Ethel Standiford, her son, Paul David Townsend, and her siblings Bernice Mull, Freida Stricker, Morton Taylor, Charles Taylor, Noah Standiford, and Norman Standiford; her great-great granddaughter Lilly Jackson. Pauline also reunites in peace with her husbands, Amos Mull, Leonard Wright, and Jack Lomax, who all held cherished places in her heart.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation at Garr Funeral Home (7806 Highway 311, Sellersburg, Indiana) on Tuesday, June 16th, 2026, from 11:00 am until 7:00 pm and on Wednesday from 9:00 am until 11:00 am. A funeral service celebrating Pauline's life will be held at Garr Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 17th, 2026, at 11:00 am.
Arrangements are entrusted to Garr Funeral Home. Pauline will be greatly missed, yet her loving spirit will remain in the hearts of those she touched. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, generosity, and love, a true testament to a life well-lived.
