IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Allen L.
Morris
October 5, 1948 – July 27, 2025
Allen Lloyd Morris, a beloved husband, father, brother, and community leader, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at the age of 76. Born in New Albany, Indiana, on October 5, 1948, Allen was a respected figure both in his professional life and within his community.
Allen was a dedicated Partner Attorney at Stites & Harbison, where he spent many years providing expertise and guidance. His impact on the legal community extended to his service as the City Attorney for Jeffersonville, Indiana, and the Town Attorney for Borden, Indiana, positions he held with integrity and dedication.
His commitment to service was rooted in his earlier years when he honorably served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War aboard the USS Independence. This experience shaped much of Allen's character, instilling a sense of duty and honor that guided him throughout his life.
A man of varied interests, Allen was revered as an elder at the Clarksville Church of Christ and was an active member of the Lions Club of Borden, where he delighted in playing Santa Claus for community events. His commitment to his community was further exemplified by his role on the Tri-County Water Board and his service on the West Clark School Board.
Allen's passions extended beyond his professional and civic engagements. He was an avid hunter, knife and firearm collector, and a lover of books, Scooby-Doo, and Western movies. He was known for his warm-hearted nature and his ability to bring joy to those around him through his many interests and hobbies.
Allen is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn E. Morris, his son Adam Morris and daughter-in-law Kara, his daughter Andrea Wilson and son-in-law Andrew, his sisters Luann Metcalf and Peggy Rice and brother-in-laws Elbert and Tim, respectively, and his brother Doug Morris and sister-in-law Shanda. Additionally, he leaves behind his cherished step-grandchildren, Tyler and Ansley Wilson. Allen's memory will live on through his many nieces and nephews that also survive him. He was preceded in death by his father, Norman L. Morris and by his mother, Charlene Morris (Martin).
Visitation will be held at the Garr Funeral Home (7806 Highway 311, Sellersburg, Indiana 47172), on Saturday, August 2, 2025, from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. The Funeral service will begin at 5:00 pm in the funeral home chapel.
