Alan Wayne Thompson, 49, passed away on Sunday, October 24, 2021 at U of L Hospital in Louisville.  He served his country honorably in the United States Army and was employed at Discount Labels for 29 years.  Alan was a member of the Silver Creek Conservation Club and loved the outdoors.  He loved riding motorcycles and was known as Pops to the motorcycle community.  Alan enjoyed collecting junk and helping those in need, but his greatest passion in life was his family.  Surviving are his loving wife, Dawn Thompson, parents, Michael and Susan Thompson, sons, Brandon Thompson and his fiancé, Kaylee Wessling, Dylan Thompson, brother, Bob Thompson and several nieces, nephews and great-nephews.  Funeral services will be held 1PM Friday at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg with burial to follow at Miller Cemetery in Borden.  Visitation will be Thursday from 12-8PM and anytime after 11AM until the time of service on Friday.  Online condolences can be made at www.garrfuneralservices.com.
