Willett "Will" Leighton Lee Obituary

Sellersburg, Indiana

 

Willett “Will” Leighton Lee, 67, passed away Friday, March 2, 2018. He was born on December 19, 1950 in Frankfort, Kentucky to the late Clella Lee, Sr. and Nell Wright Lee. He was married to Janet Baumann Lee for 32 wonderful years. Will was a graduate of Frankfort High School in Kentucky. He received his BBA degree from McKendree University in 1984 and later reeived his MBA Degree from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in 1993. He retired after a 30 year career from the Frankfort Waste Water Treatment Plant where he was Senior Class IV Plant Operator.  Will served his country in the United States army where he retired with the rank of Major after 40 years of honorable service. He was a member of the St. John Paul II Catholic Church (St. Joe Hill Chapel) in Sellersburg, Indiana. He served on many church committees including the design team for the new church and the finance committee.  Mr. Lee was a 25 year member of the American Legion Post 204 in Sellersburg. He was a Free Mason from the New Albany Lodge No39 F&A.M.  since 2010. Mr. Lee had many passions including deer hunting, the outdoors, playing cards, bowling and traveling, but he was most passionate about the love he showed to his wife and family.  He was preceded in death by his three brothers, Clella Lee, Jr. Lloyd Jones and Vernon Lee.

 

Survivors include his son, Jeffrey Lee (Kimberly) and his sister Sally Lee.

 

 

A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at the St. John Paul II Catholic Church (St. Joe Hill Campus) with interment to take place at St. Joe Hill Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will begin at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg on Tuesday from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.  and will continue on Wednesday from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.  In Lieu of flower the family request donations to be made to St. John Paul II A Future Full of Hope building Campaign.
