Thomas Scott Green, 51, passed away March 25, 2018 surrounded by family.
He was born November 30, 1966 to Clifford Green and Judy (Green) Hanner and grew up in New Albany, Indiana.
Thom graduated as Valedictorian from New Albany High School in 1984. He attended Indiana University where he studied pre-med and had plans of becoming a doctor. Unfortunately, his time there was cut short by a car accident that left him disabled. Despite his limitations, Thom took great satisfaction in living life and bringing joy to those around him, often recalling humorous memories from years gone by and through telling jokes.
Thom's family would like to thank the countless friends and extended family who supported Thom over the years by making phone calls, visiting, sending cards and pictures and ordering pizzas (one of his favorite things). Your love and friendship not only helped Thom but also supported us in ways you could never imagine. We take comfort in the fact he is now celebrating mental and physical freedom in eternity.
Thom was preceded in death by his father, Clifford Green; his grandparents John and Anna Mary Baker of Norman, Indiana and Harvey and Helen Green of Seymour, Indiana; and his niece Madeleine Marie Fischer.
He is survived by his mother, Judy (Green) Hanner; step-father, Morris Hanner; sisters Cyndi Frame (Tony); Pam Green (Tony Vega); Patty Fischer (Craig); brothers Tim Green (Debbie); Tedd Green (Tara); and thirteen nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg, Indiana on Friday, March 30, 2018 from 12 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and again on Saturday March 31, 2018 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. His Celebration of Life will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Burial will immediately follow the service at the Sellersburg Cemetery.
