Shawn Allen O’Brien, 57, passed away on November 11, 2017 in Chicago, Illinois.  He was born in Jeffersonville, Indiana on November 9, 1960.  He leaves behind his loving wife of 32 years, Dava Sue, children, Kevin Allen O’Brien, Kayla Sue (Chris) Davis, parents, Allen and Ollie, siblings, Kathy, Pam and Pat, mother & father-in-law Allen and Karen Leep, father & mother-in-law David and Mary Popp, several nieces & nephews.  Shawn was a loyal employee of Hanson Rock Quarry Coopers Lane of 28 years where he served as maintenance foreman.  He enjoyed operating heavy equipment, working on vehicles, building and remodeling homes and pole barns.  Shawn’s talents were many, he could fix anything, he was very mechanically inclined.  Shawn loved working on his farm, deer hunting, fishing and boating on Dale Hollow Lake.  Shawn was a believer and baptized in Christ, member of Safe Harbor Christian Church and lifetime member of the NRA.  Funeral services will be held 1PM Saturday at Safe Harbor Christian Church with burial to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery.  Visitation Friday from Noon-8PM and after 9AM until the time of service on Saturday.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family directly or to the Shawn O’Brien Memorial Fund at New Washington State Bank.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.garrfuneralservices.com.
