Sara Cox Obituary

Sara L. Cox, 89, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 5, 2019 in Hope, Indiana. She was born on January 30, 1929 to the late Walter and Cleo Sullivan (Medley) in Douglasville, Georgia. Mrs. Cox retired from the Army Map Service in Louisville, Kentucky where she worked as a Cartographer. She was a member of the Howard Park Christian Church of Clarksville and a former member of the Clarksville Historical Society and National Society of Retired Federal Employees.  In her leisure time Mrs. Cox enjoyed flower gardening. She was preceded in death by her son, Gregory Cox.

Surviors include her son, Michael Cox of West Columbia, South Carolina, her daughter, Myra Strawman (Roger) of Columbus, Indiana, daughter-in-law, Stephanie Cox, her brother, William Sullivan (Ginny) of Tucson, Arizona, her sister, Jane Everitt of North Ft. Myers, Florida and her grandchildren, Rene, Amy, Benjamin, Sara Kathryn, Jacyn, Meredyth, Jennifer and Amanda. Mrs. Cox also leaves behind 16 great-grandchildren, Jake, Brooke, Simone, Lena, Lily, Aaron, Olivia, Isaac, Eli, Hakim, Dylan, Quincy, Cameron, Xavier, Baron and Emerson.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg with interment to follow at Sellersburg Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
