Rose M. Hardy, 90, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 28, 2019 at the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. She was born on April 10, 1929 to the late George and Marguerite Craig (Veeley) in Louisville. Mrs. Hardy was the book keeper for Hardy Oil Company. She was a member of the St. John Paul II Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing cards with the ladies, shopping and visiting the casino. Mrs. Hardy was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, James “Jim” Hardy, her sister, Shirley Singleton, her grandson, Kevin Reel and by her son-in-law, Virgil Taylor.
Survivors include her sons, Michael Hardy (Janet) of Louisville, George Hardy (Becky) of Sellersburg, her daughters, Linda Taylor of New Albany, Rose Dietrich (Jim) Clarksville, Mary Reel (KC) of Clarksville. Mrs. Hardy also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren to cherish her memory.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, December 2, 2019 at St. John Paul II Catholic Church (St. Paul Campus) with interment to follow at Sellersburg Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 12:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg. Memorial contributions can be made to St. John Paul II Catholic Church Building Fund (216 Schellers Ave. Sellersburg, Indiana 47172).
