Patricia "Patty" Ann (Offutt) Prather

Patricia "Patty" Ann Prather, 55, went to our heavenly Father on November 9th, 2019 in Sellersburg, IN.  Patty was born on December 10, 1963 to Paul Edward Offutt, Sr. and Juanita Lee (Davis) Offutt in Louisville, KY.   Patty is preceded in death by her father, Paul E. Offutt, Sr.,  by her sister, Mary F. Williams, by her first husband, Steven Dale Lawson, Sr. and by her second husband Michael David Prather that passed away on July 2, 2008 from Leukemia.

 Survivors include her 3 children, Steven Dale Lawson, Jr., Joseph Martin Lawson and Matthew Paul Prather, sisters, Kathy Farris (Steve), Rosemary Townsend (Marion), Theresa Offutt, Linda Offutt (Billy) and her brother, Paul E. Offutt, Jr. (Dody).  Patty was employed at the Census Bureau for 11 years.  Patty was raised Catholic and attended church services at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Louisville and in recent years she attended services at Hamburg Church of Christ with her son, Matthew. “Thank you for being my mom, best friend, and now my guardian angel.  I’ll do my best to handle everything like you would have wanted” Steven, “I love you mom and I’ll always be your blue eyed baby.  I’m glad I made you proud before your passing”, Joseph. “I promise to grow up to be a strong and independent adult and to go to college to make her proud.  I will always love her and will keep her deep in my heart forever.”, Matthew.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg with interment to follow at Silver Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 12:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and on Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
