Olivia Louise Kustes, 18, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 resulting from a motor vehicle accident. Olivia was born on March 15, 2000 to James Kustes and Crystal Jackson in Louisville, Kentucky. She was a 2016 graduate of Otter Creek Academy of Monticello, Kentucky. Olivia was currently serving her country in the United States Marine Corps under the rank of Lance Corporal. She was very proud of her accomplishments in the Corps. Her superior officers reported that they will remember her for her quirky personality, willingness to help anyone that needed it and her straight forward down to earth attitude. Her family will remember her by her love for animals, her beautiful smile and her bright green eyes. In her leisure time Olivia loved horseback riding and caring for her horse Buddy. She was preceded in death by her father, James G. Kustes , her maternal grandfather, Larry Jackson and by her paternal grandmother, Sue Ann Kustes.
Survivors include her mother, Crystal Jackson (George) of Charlestown, Indiana, her brothers, Dewalt Sheroon of Charlestown, Kevin Sheroon of Charlestown, Sisters, Hollie Kustes of Louisville, Emily Kustes of Louisville, her boyfriend, Cole Kennedy of Newburgh, New York, her maternal grandmother, Janice Jackson of Charlestown, her paternal grandfather, James E. Kustes of Rineyville, Kentucky, her aunts Tammy Jackson (Eddie) of Jeffersonville, Anita Corder of Louisville, her cousins, Andrew Cochran and Jacob Cochran, both of Charlestown, Charles Rivera and Jessica Corder. Olivia also leaves her favorite horse, Buddy.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg with interment to follow at Forrest Grove Cemetery in Henryville, Indiana. Visitation will begin on Sunday, January 20, 2019 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M and will resume on Monday from 12:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
