Nickye Burgin, 86, entered eternal life on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at Maple Manor Christian Home. She was born Oniska Quire to the late Harry and Katie Quire on July 3, 1932 in Bagdad, Kentucky. Nickye was a Homemaker, past member of the Sellersburg First Baptist Church and current member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in Charlestown where she was active on the flower and kitchen committees. She enjoyed reading, crafts, preparing family meals and taking care of others. Nickye was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Burgin andsix siblings, Pagie Wares, Lonnie Quire, Ray Quire, Sargent Quire, James Quire and Richard Quire. Surviving are her son, Mark (Barbara) Burgin, Memphis, daughters, Thresa Huffman (David Gates), Scottsburg, Sherry (Larry) Bentley, Mt. Eden, Kentucky, Kelley (Doug) Franchville, Indianapolis, grandchildren, Cherry, Wendy, Adam, John, Gary, Bruce, and Tami, great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Austin, Alexis, Mason and Alivia, and one great-great grandchild, Ryder. Funeral services will be held 11AM Monday at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg with burial to follow at Silver Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 12-8PM and anytime after 9AM until the time of service on Monday.
