Evelyn Nadine (Sherrell) Goostree

Evelyn Nadine Goostree, 79, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family and her best friend “Dallas” in Sellersburg, Indiana on October 10, 2019. She was born on September 27, 1940 to the late Leslie and Genevieve Sherrell (Wright) in Halltown, Missouri. Evelyn was a career floral designer who worked at Charlestown Flower Shop, Tony’s Super Florist, Cannon’s and Marguerite’s Flower Cottage She loved quilting and crafts. Evelyn was a member of Graceland Baptist Church.  She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years Joe R. Goostree,  by her daughter, Tamara Jo Korte, by her sister Marilyn Norton and by her brother, Leslie “Buck” Sherrell.

Survivors include her son Greg Goostree of Sellersburg, her daughter, Kristi Mattingly of Sellersburg, grandchildren, Dewy Daniel (Gretchen), Joe Goostree, Kelly Neeld, Ashlea Norcom, Genna Korte, Eric Korte andJoey Mullikin, great grandchildren, Amber, Zeric, Kimana, Maddox, Aiden, Noah, Lilly and Arrow.

Evelyn is also survived by many loving family members, very special friends, Godsent Nurse, Kimberely Robinson, and by her faithful companion Dallas.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to all that stopped by and brought Evelyn everything from fresh arranged flowers to fresh caught fish and to her neighbors for their phone calls and prayers.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg with interment to follow at Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany, Indiana. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
