Donna Aguon Obituary

Donna Darlene Aguon, 58, passed away April 13, 2018 surrounded by family.

She was born May 27, 1959 to the late Felipe Aguon and Evelyn (Nix) Aguon. She grew up in Louisville, Kentucky.

Donna graduated Summa Cum Laude from Spencerian College in Louisville, KY for Medical Assistant. She loved learning and would have been a lifetime student if time had allowed. Her passion for the medical field and helping others was beyond compare. She worked as a counselor for children, drug addicts, those being newly released from prison from working at VOA to Wellstone to Dismas House, etc. Her time in the medical field was cut short by her battle with pancreatic cancer. Her battle with cancer was long and hard fought past any timeline the doctors ever put on her. Her Catholic faith kept her going far longer. She would always say that the doctors were not God.

Donna was the type of person who worked 3 jobs at a time to care for her seven children. She always put her children before herself or anything else. She raised far more than seven children because she could never turn away any friend of her child who needed a place to stay, a bite to eat, or a shoulder to cry on. She was the mother everyone would run to in the neighborhood. She was known to many as "Momma D". She gave everyone around her more than they deserved but that was the person she was.

Donna was always the person you could turn to for advice. She would tell you what you needed to hear even when you didn't want to hear it. She would lead the way when you were lost. She would carry you when you felt that you couldn't stand or walk on your own. She was your friend, your sister, your mother, whomever you needed her to be at that moment in time.

Donna was preceded in death by her sister, Theresa L Aguon "Mabel" (Kenny); her grandchildren, Earl Thomas Aguon Jr and Aaron Thomas Aguon.

Donna is survived by three sons, Robert (Jabir) Aguon, Earl Aguon, Terry Williamson; four daughters, Inez Williamson, Kaelyn Murphy, Ira Williamson, Janna Aguon; a daughter-in-law, Jamie Wells; a son-in-law, Gerald Murphy; Eleven grandchildren, Jasmine Aguon-Rayford, Jordan Aguon-Rayford, Jade Aguon, Izeyah Aguon, Haley Wise, Brayden Williamson, MacKenzie Murphy, Gerald (G-baby) Murphy IV, Marlee Williamson, Isabella Williamson, and Raelynn Williamson; a great grandchild, Brooks Wright; a brother, Glen (A.J.) Nix (Alina); a sister, Wanda (Briggs) Stevenson (Chad); Donna also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.
