Walter “Wilky” Wilkerson, 95, passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He served his country in the United States Army during WWII, a member of the Sellersburg Church of Christ and a Police Commissioner. Wilky was Owner/Operator of Wilky’s Standard Station, Wrecker Service, Recapping Business and owned and operated a school bus for West Clark for 37 years. He also worked for Louisville Bedding and Louisville Cement Company. Wilky was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Shepherd Wilkerson, daughter, Brenda Ellen Weber, brothers, Jerry Wilkerson, Bill Wilkerson and Tom Wilkerson, and a sister, Thelma Smith. Surviving are, daughters, Patty (Jim) Clapp, Sellersburg, Teresa Ellenbrand, Sellersburg, sister-in-law, Margaret Wilkerson, grandchildren, Stephanie Stonecipher, Linda Weber, David Crawford, Jessica Stewart, LeAnne Marshall, Joey Clapp and Catrina Ellenbrand, twelve great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11AM Saturday at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg with burial to follow at Sellersburg Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 11-8PM and anytime after 9AM until the time of service on Saturday.
