To the Smith Family,
I am so sorry to hear about Vera. I visited a couple of times in Florida and she always treated me so well. May the many wonderful memories of Vera comfort you during this difficult time. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.
Sincerely,
Keith Bube

Thinking of all of you with sympathy in the loss of your wife, mother and grandmother. Even though I didn't see Vera often we have been friends for years and kept in touch through occasional phone calls. One of the many things she will be remembered for were her phone calls to everyone on their birthday.

Charlie and family,
Vera always made me smile with the way she spoke. Clear, to the point and true. My mom, Lois Floyd, has told me stories of the two of them when they were younger in the late 1940s and early 1950s. Driving around in Vera car, just out having fun.
They kept in touch all through the years, even tho my mom moved away because my dad was in the service. Always birthday and Christmas cards but talked on the phone throughout the year, catching up.
Mom decided to have Vera be my godmother. I am so glad she did. We talked on our birthdays and in the summer and Christmas. She didn't like to be on the phone long tho, so you had to be quick.
The last time I got to see her and spend time with her was Oct 2001. She picked mom, me and my youngest (1 1/2yr old) child Emily up in Louisville airport. What a kick she was right off the bat. She had a plan and she had things handled for us. Baby bed set up, car seat borrowed, and our rooms were ready.
I want you to know I still make (last week most recently) the pork chops and greanbeans dish she made for us for dinner one night. She told me how to make it, didn't need to write it down Cuz it was so darn easy.
My Mom loved Vera, they REALLY KNEW each other.
Special friendship for sure. She is already missing you Vera.
I love you Godmommy, Emily beat you to Heaven tho. Can you tell her hello for me? Teach her a few things, when you have time, until I meet up with you girls later on down the road.
We love you Vera, Karen and Lois Floyd.
Charlie and kids, we are so sorry for your loss.

I am so sorry to hear of her passing. She was such a great and strong lady. She taught me to shoot straight from the hip and above all be honest. I loved her. No telling how heaven will be different with her there. It's bound to be good.
