Velma June Hanger, 94, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 4, 2017 at Traditions Health Care in Sellersburg, Indiana. She was born on December 10, 1922 to the late Mike and Roberta Angell in Carrollton, Kentucky.  Mrs. Hanger retired from General Electric in Louisville, Kentucky where she worked in production. She was a home maker and a member of the Christ’s Community Church of the Nazerine in New Albany, Indiana. Mrs. Hanger was preceded in death by loving husband, Elmer Hanger. Survivors include her son, Dwight (Jacque) Hanger of Charlestown, Indiana and her daughter, Denise (Walter) Johnson of New Albany, Indiana. Mrs. Hanger also leaves behind 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Funeral services will take place at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, December 8, 2017 at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg with interment to follow at Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany. Visitation will take place on Thursday from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and on Friday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
