LAWRENCE TEMPLE, JR., 90, passed away peacefully during the afternoon hours of May 12, 2016, at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, Indiana. He was born on January 8, 1926 in Borden Indiana to the late Lawrence E. Temple Sr. and Maude O. Temple. Lawrence honorably served his country in the United States Navy for 20 years, earning the rank of Chief Boatswain Mate. He served in all 3 theaters of WWII where he lost his brother Wallace Temple. He also served in Korea and Vietnam. His brother Raymond Temple was a POW during WWII. Lawrence worked as a barber for over 30 years in Clarksville, Indiana and was a member of Grace Community Church in Sellersburg. Lawrence served his country with honor and also lived his life with honor and integrity. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rennah C. Temple, his son, Lawrence Temple III, his brothers, Homer, Raymond, Wayne, Harold, and Bill Temple, his sisters, Bertha Stone, Edith Powell, and Doris Temple, and his son-in-law Homer Gardner.

A Funeral service will be held 1PM on Monday May 16, 2016 at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg with interment to follow at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery located in Starlight, Indiana. Visitation will be on Sunday from 1PM until 8PM and on Monday from 10AM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to our local VFW Post or American Legion.
