James E. “Jr.” Spencer, 66, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. He was born on February, 6, 1953 to the late James and Frances Spencer in Seymour, Indiana. Mr. Spencer worked in the maintenance department for Haas Cabinet Company in Sellersburg and worked as a farmer. He enjoyed riding his Honda Gold Wing motorcycle, working on lawn mowers, farming and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his loving wife, Gale Spencer of Memphis, his son, Tyler Spencer of Memphis, his daughters, Debra Ledbetter (Paul) of Sellersburg, Katilin Spencer of Memphis, his brother, Eddie B. Spencer (Patricia) of Henryville, his sisters, Patricia Dalton (James) of Memphis, Mary Pickerill (Danny) of Scottsburg, Pamela Muncy of Sellersburg, grandchildren, Jonah Ledbetter, Heather Ledbetter and Hannah Ledbetter. Mr. Spencer also leaves behind 5 nieces and nephews, Maggie Summers, Sarah Peyton, James Dalton, Crystal Pureayer and Christopher Spencer.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg with interment to follow at Forrest Grove Cemetery in Memphis. Visitation will be held on Friday from 12:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and on Saturday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
