Darrell Eugene Chapman, 86, passed away during the afternoon hours of Saturday May 14, 2016 at Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany Indiana. He was born on October 20, 1929 to the late Andrew and Iva Chapman in Elwood, Indiana. Darrell honorably served his country in the Untied States Army during the Korean War. He retired from Smith Transfer after 35 years as a truck driver. Darrell was preceded in death by his wife of 25 years Allie Pearl Chapman and his daughter Cathy Fanning.

Brother:                                  Melvin (Evelyn) Chapman- Jeffersonville, Indiana

Significant other:                 Sandra Stephens- Jeffersonville, Indiana

A Funeral service will be held at 2PM on Wednesday May 18, 2016 at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg with interment to follow at Sellersburg Cemetery.  Visitation will be on Wednesday from 10AM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hosparus of Southern Indiana (624 East Market St. New Albany, Indiana 47150)
