Charlie Rothbauer

Charlie Rothbauer, 91, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 26, 2019 at Sellersburg Healthcare in Sellersburg, Indiana. He was born on December 10, 1927 to the late Anton and Julia Rothbauer in Pekin, Indiana. Mr. Rothbauer honorably served his country in the United States Army 11th Airborne Division during World War II. He retired from International Harvester and was also a retired home builder. Mr. Rothbauer was a member of the St. John Paul II Catholic church, VFW Post 1693 of New Albany and the American Legion Post 204 of Sellersburg. He was preceded in death by 8 brothers and 3 sisters.

Survivors include his  wife of 65 years Elizabeth “Libby” Rothbauer of Sellersburg, Son, Richard Rothbauer of Milan, Indaina, daughters, Diana Waggoner (Thomas) of Pekin, Donna Koenig of Borden, brothers, Henry Rothbauer of Tarpon Springs, Florida, Steve Rothbauer of Nashville, Indiana, grandchildren, January Waggoner, Lacy Jo Carter, Cody Rothbauer (Andrea) and Chelsea Koenig. Mr. Rothbauer also leaves behind 9 great-grandchildren,  Hadley Sprinkle, Lane Sprinkle, Waydon Carter, Sutton Carter, Ruby Carter, Dominic Rothbauer, Devan Rothbauer, Evan LaDuke and Jessa Casey.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 A.M.  on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at St. John Paul II Catholic Church (St. Paul Campus) in Sellersburg with interment to follow at St. Francis Cemetery in Henryville. Visitation will be held at Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg on Monday from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the processional to church.
